Art lovers, stars of film and music, businesspeople – they already collected artworks of James Francis Gill in the 60s.

Among the Pop Art Icons, James Gill is ranked next to Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. For example he created a cinema poster for Charlie Chaplin’s last film with Sophia Loren and Marlon Brando. Gill was commissioned to paint the covers of well known print media such as TIME magazine and LIFE magazine. Hollywood stars like John Wayne and Tony Curtis requested for their portrait painted by him. In 1962 the Museum of Modern Art, New York acquired Gill’s artwork for their collection.
